It’s a tough time at the moment but if I’ve learned anything from it so far it’s that it’s definitely a time to try new things. So if you fancy checking out any of the songs below to try and find a great new artist to listen to this quarantine season look no further!
Bad Omens - The Hell I Overcame 🔥:
One of my favourite songs at the moment, a great powerful and anthemic song to get us through a time when feeling strong is so important. If you like them other songs such as Limits and The Worst In Me are also addictive listens.
Motionless In White - Disguise 🎭:
I feel like we’ve all found out more about ourselves than we ever thought possible in quarantine so let's drop our disguises and live our best lives as our best selves. A beautifully creative song which is reminiscent of the Infamous era. Check out Undead Ahead 2 for a similar sound. Or Another Life and Voices for a softer listen.
Palaye Royale - F*cking With My Head😵:
I think this band of brothers (quite literally - scuse the pun) are a real promising new artist for those who like alternative music, although quite a heavy song this band are a lot more 1950’s and rock influenced in general, with a hint of beetlejuice and costume-esc style. You’ll be fine and Don’t Feel Quite Right are slightly different but equally wonderful tracks.
Lord Of The Lost - Forevermore✨:
One of my favourite bands of all time and I've been following their work since the first album. One of the best new goth bands around with heavy metal influences. Forevermore is an anthemic song and Chris Harms voice is the definition of perfection for anyone used to goth vocals and heavy metal screams/growls. All the new stuff is AMAZING, check out Lorely and Black Halo which are just two more of my ever growing list of favourites from this band.
Type-O Negative - Black No.1🖤:
Yes. It’s Incredible. But honestly this is one of many wonderful songs by this band and I can’t stress enough how you can’t possibly listen to just one Type-O Negative song. With a mix of goth rock and metal/industrial influences this band are fab. Give the album Bloody Kisses a listen for a great introduction to the band. Life Is Killing Me is also a great album. Because I’m sure all of us don’t really want to be us right now!
Give those bands you’ve been ignoring in your Youtube recommended or that spotify playlist a listen. Sometimes we’re pleasantly surprised by the things we least expect!
